Created in 1975, Builders Club is the largest service leadership program for students in middle years/middle school (typically 12-14 years old). In 21 countries around the world, the program has nearly 27,000 members in over 1,100 clubs.
Joining Builders Club means belonging to the Kiwanis family that engages more than 438,000 youth and adults globally from primary/elementary school through adulthood in service. Together, our family of clubs complete more than 240,000 service projects and raise almost US$340 million each year.
Builders Club is student-led. Each club has members and adult advisors. Members plan fundraisers and service projects. Clubs are located in schools, youth organizations, libraries, community centers, and other places where youth meet. The host school or organization provides a meeting space and an adult advisor to guide students. A local Kiwanis club often sponsors a Builders Club, paying its fees and providing a volunteer Kiwanis advisor.
Northwest Kiwanis sponsors a Builders Club at Larson Middle School in Grandview Heights.
