Youth Soccer

Northwest Kiwanis has proudly sponsored a youth recreational soccer program for the last 50 years in the communities of Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights, and Marble Cliff. We offer three programs Youth Soccer Grades 1-6, Soccer Buddies and K.I.D.S. Kindergarten Instructional and Developmental Soccer (Spring Only) for children who are in grades 1-6 in Fall 2023 and who live or go to school in Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights or Marble Cliff.

Youth Soccer Grades 1-6: Our program is open to boys and girls grades 1-6. The program has a Fall and Spring session. The 1st-6th grade program has boys and girls leagues divided into 1st/2nd grade teams (Bantam 1), 3rd/4th grade teams (Bantam II), and 5th/6th grade teams (Intermediate).  Games are held on Sundays between 12:00 and 5:00pm at various parks around Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights in September/October and April/May.

Kiwanis Soccer Buddies: This program is an adaptive recreational program within the Northwest Kiwanis Soccer program specifically designed for children in grades K-6 who have special needs. Each child will be paired with a high-school- aged mentor who (a) has soccer experience and (b) has received focused training on partnering with children who have special needs. The goal of the program is to give children with special needs the opportunity to learn soccer skills in a fun setting. Practice/Scrimmage Dates are Saturdays in September, October and April/May at Thompson Park South, Upper Arlington. (Participants will be limited to the first 24 registrants with a wait list if needed.)

K.I.D.S.: Kindergarten Instructional and Developmental Soccer Program. The K.I.D.S. Program is held on Saturday mornings for 4 sessions SPRING ONLY at Thompson Park South, Upper Arlington.  This program is open to children currently in kindergarten who live, or go to school, in Upper Arlington, Grandview Heights or Marble Cliff.  During the four weeks of instruction, soccer players (both boys and girls) from Upper Arlington and Grandview Heights High Schools will teach the basic fundamentals of the game. Registration for the program opens in February.

Group leaders: Parent volunteers. Northwest Kiwanis is very grateful for the assistance of our parent volunteers. The success of this program will be dependent upon: (1) all participants and spectators following the established safety protocols and (2) sufficient numbers of parent volunteers.

Northwest Kiwanis will be responsible for following compliance with best practices and the Responsible Restart Ohio guidelines published by the Ohio Department of Health
